Clarinetist Amy Glover is a chamber musician and recitalist. Amy is most passionate about about contemporary music and has performed in the Texas New Music Ensemble, the New York Electroacoustic Music Festival, the Lucerne Festival Academy Orchestra, the Darmstadt International Music Institute’s chamber sessions, and the Banff Centre’s Performance Today as a musician-in-residence. As co-founder of the clarinet and piano team Duo Ephelia, she has appeared at the Chicago Cultural Center’s Preston Bradley Hall, Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall, the Nicholas Roerich Museum, the Czech Center New York’s Bohemian National Hall’s Sounds of Serendipity series, and the Hewlett-Woodmere Public Library’s New Talent New Ideas series. She has also performed with the Light Opera of New York, the Regina Opera, the New York Virtuosi, the Traverse Symphony, and the Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra. She was a finalist in the International Clarinet Association’s Orchestral Competition in 2011 and a semi-finalist in the CAG Victor Elmelah Competition in 2015.
Amy has taught at the Mozartina Musical Arts Conservatory and the JCC on the Hudson’s Music Works program in addition to maintaining her own clarinet and saxophone studio. She holds a Master of Music Degree from the Mannes College of Music where she received the James E. Hughes, Sr. Memorial Performance Award and a Bachelor of Music summa cum laude from the University of Houston. Her principal teachers include Jeffrey Lerner and Charles Neidich. In addition, she was a participant in the Banff Centre’s Master Classes in 2007 where she studied with James Campbell and Chen Halevi.
Additionally, Amy works as a software engineer at Google.
